Im not saying you should buy this particular model, just that if you are a gamer the gpu is the one thing you need to get right, particularly if you want to be able to play recent games for the longest possible time (youm mentioned &#039;longevity&#039; and Im assuming this is what you meant). an 8600 is really getting pretty under par and there are a number of current games that wont run well on it. the 8800 is pretty much the entry level standard if you are a gamer. GPU&#039;s are not upgradeable and this is the component that will determine more than any other element the quality of gamepolay in terms of the number of fames per second the machine is able to display and the resolution the  game will run at.</description>
