Anyone Had This Problem When Installing Windows Xp On A New Hard Drive?

I got myself a 160GB hard drive to replace my 20GB one for my Dell Latitude C840 laptop. When I start the XP installation, I ran into this pop-up.http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/CBa…
It says:
“An error has been encountered that prevents Setup from continuing.
Setup failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The setup log files should contain more information.
Press OK to view the Setup log files”
So I clicked OK and got this pop-up:http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/CBa…
which says:
“Error:

When Display Sleeps It Forgets Dual Monitor Setup!?

Whenever the display returns from sleep or the machine is unlocked, my Vista Business returns the dual monitor orientation to the default setting. I have my 24 inch dell monitor (2) placed above my laptop, Dell inspiron 9400 17 inch screen (1). Both screens are set at 1920 x 1200 connected with the DVI input. I have an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS. When it comes out of sleep mode and I login back into my account using my password and the mouse moves correctly up to the monitor above for about 3 seconds until both monitors blackout for a second and then revert back to default orientation, right and left. I have to reset it every time…sooo annoying.
I have search many forums on the internet and it seems to be a common. Unfortunately, I don’t think anyone has found the bug fix. I have the latest drivers.
Please someone bring a cure!!! Thx

Can My Laptop Be In The Case When I Fly?

I’m traveling to NYC in 2 days, and want to make sure I can bring my laptop with me in its case. I’m flying Delta and their regulations for carry-ons are:
1 carry on (i’m using my small upright suitcase)
1 personal item…i.e.a male or female purse, a briefcase, a laptop/computer, a camera case, a diaper bag
Does this mean I have to keep the laptop out of its case, or can I leave it in there and I’ll be fine on the plane?
I know you have to take it out of the bag at security.
My laptop is a 17″ Dell Inspiron 9300

What To Spend Extra On When Buying A Laptop?

I am planning to buy a new laptop as a desktop replacement and for occasional travel. I will use it mainly to surf the web, occasional music downloads and MS office applications (PowerPoint and Word). I do NOT run gaming applications. During travel I may watch a DVD or two. I have my eyes on a 15 or 17″ Dell laptop with Core 2 Duo, 1 GB RAM, and 80G HDD. Which of the following would be worth spending extra dollars on to enhance the performance/speed of my computer (mostly for web surfing): processor speed, front bus speed, L2 cache, HDD speed, video card memmory, RAM, RAM speed? Is there a “rate-limiting” process when surfing the web other than connection speed?
