Trouble Finding The Right Notebook?

Hi guys, I’ve been doing a lot of research lately on the right laptop for my needs ahead of time for my freshman college year. I’ve been looking around for a laptop that meets certain requirements for myself, mostly under brand names such as Toshiba, Sony, Velocity Micro, and Extreme Notebooks. Other brands are good, but I’d rather not get a HP, Gateway, and Dell from a business standpoint, they just don’t appeal much to me either.
The trouble I’m having is due to the fact that I want certain things in the laptop that are hard to all get together.
Preferably a-
2.4 gigahertz processor
2 gigs of RAM (for running that shitty OS known as VISTA)
at least a 150 gig hard drive, but no larger than 200
a dedicated graphics card, preferably Nvidia that is at least a 7 series card
17 inch screen but 15.4 is acceptable
If you can find a notebook that meets these needs or customize one to meet them and is under $1200 – It’s a tall order I know, but I will be forever grateful!

Can I Get In Trouble For Keeping My Computer?

I worked for a previous employer where they purchased a Dell laptop for me. I left that company about 4 months later, keeping the computer. It is has been 17 months since I left. Today the power adaptor stopped working, but I knew it was under warranty. I called Dell and they are overnighting me a new cord. Will Dell get back to my previous employer that I got a replacement part? They only thing they asked is what organization I worked for when it was purchased.
I know it is unethical that I kept the computer– I am not asking about that. I want to know if Dell will go back to the employer for any reason.

Trouble Finding Laptop?

Hi –
This is the specs of the laptop I’m looking for. I’ve searched Sony, HP, Toshiba, Gateway, Dell, Alienware, you name it. I haven’t searched around the unknown brands, though. Can someone help me find something exactly to these specs? Thanks!

Resolution Trouble On My Dell Xps Gen 2 Laptop?

I have an Nvidia GeoForce 6800 Ultra Graphics card and I have a 17″ widescreen. For some reason images on my laptop off the internet are always somewhat distorted. I wouldnt go so far as to say they are really distorted, because I can see them just fine. Its more like they have been stretched to a shape that isnt suitable for them, but I have tried different resolutions (some arent even widescreen) and it doesnt fix the problem. Any ideas?
