Is It A True Hd Screen?

Im looking at buying a laptop
the dell im looking at has a 17″ screen and says it is 1920×1200
but then for the hp laptops the only one with 1920×1200 is a 20.1″ screen
so im not sure if the dell is really true HD or if it just claims to be

What Is The Optimal Resolution For A 22″ Wide Screen Monitor?

I have a Dell 22″ monitor and I use 1680 x 1050. My concern is that my friend with a 17″ laptop uses the same resolution. I was wondering, is he using the wrong resolution, or am I? If I am, what is the optimal resolution. I have an nVidia GeForce 9500 GT which allows me to set up a custom resolution if I have to. So, am I using the right resolution, or do I need to set up a custom one? If I need a custom one, what do I need?

Problem With Screen Resolution – Screen “shrinking” Rather Than Icons Getting Bigger Etc.?

I’m on max screen resolution 1920×1200 on my dell laptop and I used to reduce it not a problem so that things would appear bigger on the desktop etc. Now whenever I reduce it the screen literally gets smaller, and black gaps appear on the top, bottom and sides of the screen, for example if I put it on the lowest resolution instead of my monitor appearing 17″, it’s like a tiny television at like 6″ with massive black gaps around it….
Please help!!

Computer Screen Question?

Hello. And thanks in advance for your answers. I have a problem with my dell inspirion laptop that’s about 3 years old. I was working on it the other day and my cat jumped on the keys and my screen kinda got crazy. My laptop has a 17″ screen and instead of the screen being normal, it was stretched the opposite way with all my icons on the bottom of my screen. I can’t keep craining my neck to see the screen. Can anyone help me? I’m sorry I can’t elaborate more on the details but if you ask me a question, I can answer it. Thanks!!

My Hp Dv9548us Laptop Screen Is Not Displaying Anything. I Have To Plug Into A External Display To See Things.

Lately my laptop screen has been acting up, when I power up the laptop the screen doesn’t turn on or display anything, i can hear the computer starting up and it makes the login sound once it loads up the operating system but the screen does not display anything. When I plug it into my 17″ Dell monitor I can pick up everything in that monitor but still nothing on the laptop screen, when I go to display options it detects 2 screens and I tried extending to the 2nd screen and it still does not resolve the problem.
I had this same problem 2 weeks ago and I gave up and left my laptop sitting on my desk turned off for a whole week, my brother came in my room and started it up and somehow the screen just worked…with no problems, the screen was working for 3 whole days and displaying everything fine, and now the screen is acting up again, its as if the laptop does not recognize it.
Any suggestions please?

one day in school i saw the like see thru lamenator paper thing and i picked it up and i put it up to the lcd screen and it looked like a loptop screen and felt really smooth when i touched it and the screen looked smooth too, and if i touched the monitor i would only dirty thee see thru paper thing and i could easily was it. is it possible to buy something like this for a 17″ 4:3 dell lcd monitor?

What Can I Do About The Glare On My Laptop Screen ??

i have a 17″ dell xps that when i use in the car or outside i get a glare and especially with the sun it is hard to see. i tried checking at both fry’s and wal-mart for a glare screen reducer to put over the screen but neither had anything for a 17″. anyone have any tricks or perhaps know of a place that carries one ??? i’m in the DFW area if you know a store.

I would prefer to have the ability to use my fingers and some way to make it internal. If not, any other pen solutions will do. For anyone familiar with touch screens and not my model of laptop, the screen is 17″.
