Looking At (affordable) Laptops For Gaming And College Life.?

I’m looking at laptops for when I go to college in the fall, but want one that’ll stand up to what I want it to do. So far I’ve customized a Dell Inspiron 1720 and an HP dv9500t. Some of the specs end up being: 2 gigs of ram, 2.0 Pentium Dual Core, 7200rpm HD, 17″ monitor. I’m not too worried about Vista because I kinda plan on loading XP 64 bit anyways.
I’m looking for my computer to handle games like Hellgate: London and battlefield 2 with some ease. Any opionions on the above products or suggestions for new ones are greatly appreciated.

i have had a dell inspiron 6000 for about 4 years and it has been thru much.. i mean like several kicks off my bed etc! and its still works perfectly well..
i want a new laptop now so am selling the old one.. thinking of getting a dell inspiron 1720 or a Studio 17! but!!! i think i wanna explore around first before i stick to Dell again..
i need cute.. STRONG (i must admit i am a destroyer) and not extremely heavy!!

Laptops In New York..help!!?

i need to buy a laptop in new york, im just 17 so what i will be having as of money will be about 550. I was just wondering if anyone can recommend a store where i can get a laptop at that price. I went to shop for one about a week ago and it wasnt exactly great i had to return it since the windows they put on it was not legal and it seems as if the laptop had been used. If anyone knows a place that would be great!!!. it will be more for my personal use since i already have a dell as desktop.more for like just chatting and saving some pics. thanks!!

Which Of These Laptops Is Better?

Ok so im on the Dell website, and i’m lookin at these 2 laptops which cost roughly the same but can’t choose between them. Basically i need an expert on opinion on which is best.
Obviously i want the fastest laptop for the lowest price, don’t really care about having a good graphics card or big screen. Also on that note is Dell the best place to get a laptop?? Also bear in mind i can get £50/£70 off these two laptops if i buy before tomorrow!

ok…on my b-day i am positive that i will get a laptop. but well where do i start. here are some of the requirements that i need.
i know about the dell inspiron 1721 but it has a number pad and it just looks weird with it. so heres the req.:

2. not a macbook
3.have windows vista home premium
4. cannot be more than $950
5.has a option for password lock.

Should I get the Studio 17 by Dell (http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/day/200… or the macbook by Apple (http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/sh… I am looking for a laptop that can take funny pictures with distortions and special effects, and that can also edit your voice. I’m pretty sure the macbook can take better pictures, but I am not sure if it can distort your voice in videos. Also, the macbook is more expensive than the studio 17. What do you think I should do?
