How Old Do You Have To Be To Buy A New Laptop?

i’m going to college in the fall & i don’t think my parents are going to buy me a laptop because they haven’t yet. i would rather just go & buy it myself with some of my graduation money. i’m 17, will they let me buy it because i’ll have to get an internet connection that i’ll have to pay for..
i’m also moving out in a month so i’m going to need a computer.
i’d like to buy a dell…anything for about $500..saw an ad in wal-mart for a dell that was $498.

My Icons And Task Bar Have Disappeared?

on my dell studio 17 vista laptop the icons on the desktop have disappeared and so has the bar at the bottom.. i restarted the pc and nothing happened. The little windows button doesn’t work either

My Hp Dv9548us Laptop Screen Is Not Displaying Anything. I Have To Plug Into A External Display To See Things.

Lately my laptop screen has been acting up, when I power up the laptop the screen doesn’t turn on or display anything, i can hear the computer starting up and it makes the login sound once it loads up the operating system but the screen does not display anything. When I plug it into my 17″ Dell monitor I can pick up everything in that monitor but still nothing on the laptop screen, when I go to display options it detects 2 screens and I tried extending to the 2nd screen and it still does not resolve the problem.
I had this same problem 2 weeks ago and I gave up and left my laptop sitting on my desk turned off for a whole week, my brother came in my room and started it up and somehow the screen just worked…with no problems, the screen was working for 3 whole days and displaying everything fine, and now the screen is acting up again, its as if the laptop does not recognize it.
Any suggestions please?

I Have A Hard Drive Problem With A Dell Inspiron 1525?

Ok, so on 17 Aug 08 I purchased this laptop from Future Shop in Halifax. Yesterday [Sunday] it failed to detect the hard drive and during a test I got error code 2000-0141. Should I deal with Dell tech support or take to the Future shop where I purchased it (note: I live about 200km away from that FS).

I have a dell studio 17 laptop. And for some reason I cannot access with a program on my laptop. The only way I can get to it, is by getting on myspace and take a picture with it.
