Whats The Strongest Brand Of Laptops Around..?

i have had a dell inspiron 6000 for about 4 years and it has been thru much.. i mean like several kicks off my bed etc! and its still works perfectly well..
i want a new laptop now so am selling the old one.. thinking of getting a dell inspiron 1720 or a Studio 17! but!!! i think i wanna explore around first before i stick to Dell again..
i need cute.. STRONG (i must admit i am a destroyer) and not extremely heavy!!

Notebook From Which Brand Would Last Longer (after 1st Year Warranty Is Expired!)…?

I want to buy notebook 15″ or 17 ” for my sisters family, so I wonder which notebook brand could I put my faith in…They are not very PC skilled so they wouldn’t be raping it all the time, maybe Internet, photos from digital camera, Internet, some movies, etc. I don’t want to pay 3 yrs warranty, because some (like Sony, Samsung and Apple are VERY expensive!), and therefore I would like to know for which laptop brand or type could I hope to have a reasonably long life 3-5 years…Friends told me HP, Lenovo and some Dell’s notebooks…Any suggestions? Also, is it true that watching movies on a laptop fries motherboard? Some laptops today, ie. Dell Latitude E6400 have Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500, which can have betwen 1300 and 1800 MB graphic memory, depending on RAM, so shouldn’t they be able play movies without any problems?
Also, which brand is cheapest to repair (you’ll probably say Acer, but I just wanted to make sure!)?
Should I go with Asus (2 year warranty without extra money!)?

How To Fix Static In My Brand New Laptop’s Sound System?

I have a brand new Dell Studio 17 laptop. I really like it. Except, there’s static in the sound system when I use windows media player to play DVD’s or MP3s.
There aren’t any updates for the software. This is my second Dell Studio in a week that had this problem, and my 3rd laptop in a week period as I turned in a Gateway MC7801U for a keyboard that wouldn’t register.
I really like the Dell and am TIRED of swapping out laptops.
There aren’t any software updates, and this happens with headphones or the sound system speakers at any volume with any music or media.
ANYTHING I can do to avoid taking this back? I use music to study in my research – so – not playing music isn’t an option.

How Good Is The Dell Studio 17 Brand?

Ok, so im looking for a new laptop and i got advice that dell studio 17 was a nice line of laptops, so i checked them out, and they are pretty nice. I was just wondering, how well it would run online games? Such as Left 4 Dead, combat arms etc…
Im not looking for an alienWare product by the way…they are a little pricy, and are just full gaming, i do a lot of other things with my old laptop….suggestions??
